(1) Robofest after-glow competition at IGVC

Robofest teams are having an afterglow competition at Oakland University in Michigan during the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition (IGVC) (http://www.igvc.org/), June 4 ~ June 7. We will have RoboPower Game & Vision Centric L2Bot Challenge competitions. Robofest participants are encouraged to visit College IGVC Robotics team booths and Autonomous Challenge and Navigation Challenge practice courses. Over 60 college teams across the nation and world are coming to Michigan to compete at the advanced autonomous robot vehicle competition. The IGVC event is open to the public. (2) Free Robot C workshop at Oakland University on June 8

On Saturday, during the IGVC competition, Robofest will provide a free hands-on Robot C programming workshop using Lego NXTs for Highschool students, parents, teachers, and coaches. After the workshop, we will have a Mini Robo Sumo Competition. There will be two identical sessions. The date and time of the workshops are:

 

         Sat. June 5, 2pm-3:30pm

         Sat, June 5, 4pm-5:30pm

 

Maximum 24 seats are available for each session. To register, email to Shari Stout at [email protected]. You do not need to bring anything; preassembled NXT robot and a laptop will be used for a team of two.

 

(3) Introduction to Robofest, Presentations during IGVC

There will be two identical presentations to introduce Robofest during the IGVC competition. This is for prospective Local Qualifying Site Hosts, Coaches, and Teams. You do not need to register to attend these presentations. The date/time of the presentations are:

 

(4) NXT Robotics Summer Camps at Lawrence Tech

The following RoboMath summer camps using Lego NXT are being planned by Robofest at Lawrence Tech:

         for Coaches and Teachers with NXTG: June 29, 4 ~ 8pm, M218 (Free, bring your own NXT and laptop, if you have; pizza and pop will be provided)

         for Coaches and teachers with C: June 30, 4 ~ 8pm, M218 (Free, bring your own NXT and laptop, if you have; pizza and pop will be provided)

         for Students with NXTG: July 8, 10am ~ 3pm, M218 ($10 per student, bring your own NXT and laptop, if you have; bring lunch)

         for 8th~ 12th grade students with C: July 9, 10am ~ 3pm, M218 ($10 per student, bring your own NXT and laptop, if you have; bring lunch)

(5) Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation Camp Infinity

Girls aged nine to 13 years old in the fourth through seventh grades from Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties in Michigan are invited to apply to attend the MCWTF Girls� Technology Camp, June 28 to July 2, 2010 at Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, MI. Applications and additional information can be found at www.mcwt.org. Hurry, camp fills quickly!
