(1) Robofest 2011 Kick-Off on Dec 4 and Dec 7

12th annual Robofest 2011 season will be kicked-off on Sat., Dec 4, 2010, 2:30pm ~ 4pm (EST) at LTU in Southfield in Buell Mgt. Building, room M218. An identical presentation will be held on Dec 7, 2010, 5:30pm ~ 7:00pm in the same room.  Rules will be announced, 2011 game will be unveiled, and team registration will begin. Anyone can participate in the meetings online using Wimba. The direct link for the Wimba meeting will be on our website at www.robofest.net. To join the online meeting, we strongly recommend you test the connection before the meeting. We will also post the recorded sessions on our website.

 

(2) MCWTF $500 Grant for All-Girl Robofest Teams

Is your all-girl middle school or high school Robotics team eligible for a MCWTF $500 Grant?� Follow this link for a list of requirements and an application: http://www.mcwtf.org/Robotics_Grants_102.html� The deadline for returning applications is December 18, 2010 by midnight.� Late applications will not be accepted.� Winners will be notified by January 11, 2011.

 

(3) Workshops for Registered Robofest Teams

Once again, Robofest is offering a series of programming workshops throughout January and early February 2011.� The workshops are FREE to registered Robofest teams, and reservations are required to attend.� Programming instruction will be provided for RobotC, NXT-G, Java, and Lejos Java. (4) Wanted: Robofest Site Hosts in East Coast States, Central States, Europe and Africa

Robofest is seeking to expand hosting opportunities in the East Coast States and Central States of the US, as well as in Europe and Africa for the 2011 Competition Season.  Qualifying Competition Sites are needed in late February through April 2 of 2011. Interested individuals, organizations, or schools should contact Robofest office at [email protected] or check out www.robofest.net and click on the *For Site Hosts* link.

 

(5) Robofest is Seeking Sponsors for 2011 Competition

In an effort to keep Robofest an affordable, yet highly educational competition for everyone, we are seeking sponsors for the 2011 season.  If you or your organization is interested in helping to support the important work of Robofest, please contact Dr. CJ Chung, [email protected].  Robofest appreciates all support, big or small.  Robofest accepts both monetary contributions and in-kind services donations.  Please contact us if you are able to support Robofest in any way. (6) Student Seeking a Sr. Robofest Team to Join

Jordan, a tenth grade student in the Detroit area, is looking for a Sr. Robofest team to join. Jordan has a solid background in science and engineering. Please contact Stacey Queen at Stacey.Queen [at] trw.com if you have any openings.
